  • Is it Boot season yet in Miami?

These boots are made for walking… image by: google.com/images

Hello, yes we are in September and yes we are still 90+ degree weather, that’s Miami for you. So can we take out the boots yet? According to Refinery29 we can. Yes I am excited and yes I LOVE my boots. If you click on the link above you can check out the different choices they picked for boots in Miami.

Although I love Miami, sometimes our “Fall” fashion is non existent due to our weather. I don’t care what others think, bring out the boots and bring out the scarfs…. I’m ready for my Fall clothing.

  • Moving in & Moving on up…

Moving In & Moving on up…

Okay so I don’t drive a fancy car and my apartment isn’t a Penthouse suite, but I have to say my little apartment is super chic and cute. I have to admit I’ve moved out before but this moving process seemed like a lot of work.

We started moving Friday 08/06/10. My boyfriend and brother took the stuff from his house and loaded up the U-Haul truck… there wasn’t much but clothes and a few boxes/bags and the TV, so off they went from South Miami, to Pembroke Pines. There my dad helped them move the rest of the stuff into the U-Haul truck; my bed, two night stands, TV Stand and a few boxes and clothes etc. I brought them lunch and they were able to go to the building earlier to move in, so off they go to Downtown Miami…..

    Downtown… When you’re alone
And life is making you lonely,
    You can always go downtown

Up and down they go, moving furniture and boxes…. Meanwhile, I had errands to run, I worked that day at 6:30 in the morning, then I left work at 12pm to head to the Doral to drop off some paperwork, then up to Pembroke Pines where I took the guys food. We ate, they went to downtown and I went to Target and Sedanos to buy a few things I knew we would need to munch on and drink while we were there until I went Grocery shopping Saturday morning. I got the apartment and the guys were thirsty so they each grabbed a bottle water (Good thing I bought some bottle water), they finished unloading and headed to drop the U-Haul Truck back to it’s destination. Meanwhile, I started cleaning up and unpacking. It didn’t look like we had much to unpack, and our place isn’t that big, but it took Friday until 9pm, Saturday after grocery shopping and unloading and cleaning and finishing up until 10pm and Sunday, well Sunday we went up to Ikea in Ft. Lauderdale and bought ourselves a couch 🙂

We are now sitting in our apartment with a couch, a bed and a desk in our den. I can truly say that I am finally just about settled in…we have a few more things we need to get (like kitchen supplies) but all in all everything is looking up. Moving in and moving on up…

    Downtown…..

Special Thanks to everyone who helped us move in:

My boyfriend: Thank you for always calming me down when things seem to get rough, and always being there for me. Thank you for all the hard work you put in with the move.

My brother: Thank you for helping us move and even taking the day off. You are the best brother a sister can possibly ask for.

My sister in-law: Thank you for always being there for me, if it wasn’t for you, we might not even be in this place…

My Mom: I couldn’t ask for a better mother, best friend who is always by my side no matter what. Thank you for helping me clean and get my place settled in, you don’t know how much you helped me.

My Dad: Thank you for helping us move and always being there for us.

My In-Laws: Thank you, for always supporting us, helping supply us with things for the apartment and for just being you.

My Sister: Thank you for coming over and helping me and thank you for always making us laugh.

I love you all so much! THANK YOU!

  • ebay – Great Deals – Perhaps a few scams???

    Oh ebay…

I just recently started using ebay to get a few good deals. There are some things you can really get great deals on. My flaw — buying purses. I love purses! I have to control myself because some of the deals are too good to be true. Now that’s just it, do you think some of these can be fakes? I hate to buy one thinking its real and then only to find out it’s fake.

    Bidding wars:

Bidding is tough sometimes you don’t get what you really want. Sometimes I think it’s a little rigged though. For example, I bid on a clutch that no one had bidded on yet with one minute to go and as soon as I confirmed my bid I got out bidded…hmmm scam? Or coincidence? It’s hard to say but I was upset I didn’t get that cute purse.

What are your thoughts on ebay? Have you ever had any problems with products purchased from here?

  • Condo/Apartment Searching…For Rent

Have you tried Apartment searching? When I thought trying to buy was difficult trying to Rent is just as hard. Unless of course you have lots of money!

    Apartment/Condo Searching…

So as of recently my boyfriend and I decide to rent. It’s a lot easier then buying at the moment and it gives us a chance to keep looking for something we truly love before we decide to buy a home. We’ve spoken to a hand full of Realtor’s. Realtor’s complain that the market is doing bad, that they aren’t making that much money, yet every time I turn the corner to talk to one about finding a place to rent, they send a few things my way, I tell them I didn’t like what they sent and they stop there with out returning an email or a phone call.

    Postings that don’t exist

I contact a Realtor on a posting that is either on the MLX or Craigslist etc. Every time I have called about a Unit that I am interested in, miraculously it is already rented out. Explain to me one thing please? If that unit was just posted today how is it possible that it has already been rented out? I’m starting to believe that these realtor’s just post things that look really nice, so that potential renters can call asking to see the place, then when they do they tell them it’s rented out and maybe they can help them to find something similar to that unit. However, they talk the talk but they aren’t by any means walking the walk. Not one realtor has gotten back to me with potential places that I may want to rent out. Is it me, or do they really want the business?

    If I was a Realtor?!?

If I worked in the industry, I would be on top of things. If a potential renter or buyer called me on a property they were interested in, and the place they were interested already had a contract or a renter, I would offer to help them more. I would look for locations and ask what they were looking for (inside the home). This way I can research this for them and try to have them as a client. I would also pick up my phone. I can’t tell you how many times I have called a Realtor who doesn’t pick up their phones or call me back. Most Realtor’s seem to want the full commission so if you call telling them you have a Realtor your chances are low. Now that I’m renting I call without a Realtor and it seems my chances are still low. What’s going on?

    I still have hope

I still look every day and I’m hoping to find something by the new year. If my stars are aligned correctly then I’ll be having a house warming get together at my new place soon 🙂 Wish me luck

  • Laser Hair Removal

So lately, well for a while now I have been thinking of getting the Laser Hair Removal done. (Oh for the day I am hairless….)

    Laser Hair Removal

Epilation by laser was performed experimentally for about 20 years before it became commercially available in the mid 1990s. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) epilators, though technically not a laser, use xenon flash lamps that emit full spectrum light. Laser and light-based methods, sometimes called phototricholysis or photoepilation, are now most commonly referred to collectively as “laser hair removal”. You can find more info at Wiki

I have heard some people say it really works, and I have heard some people say that their hair grows back. I want to find a place that is clean, great service, not too pricey, that actually works and has a life time guarantee. I have heard many places offer this. I am just scared to try a place out without knowing if it’s good or not.

If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them. Leave a comment please.

  • House Hunting

My boyfriend and I have been looking for a house over a year now, yes OVER A YEAR! It’s tough out there because our budget is on the cusp of being in a better neighborhood, and we have to take into consideration the taxes. Even though the houses have dropped tremendously in the last year it’s still hard to find the “perfect” house. They all are old, so the rooms are tiny, with hardly no closet space (which for me is hard to accept). And they all need remodeling. In a sense I’m looking forward to the transformation from old to my HOME. But it’s a lot of money which is why we also can’t get something higher in price than we can afford. We also don’t want to be struggling from paycheck to paycheck, we want to be able to be financially okay. Be able to go out when we want to go eat sushi, buy those cute shoes in the window because today I DESERVE IT.

A persons dream only comes once, but a person who believes in a dream makes that dream come true.

    Kristin Nicole

  • Have house prices hit the bottom?

I read an article on CBS News about home prices reaching the bottom. This is a bit upsetting, I still believe that the prices are still a little high, although I know they have dropped tremendously. I have been looking with my boyfriend for a little over a year. But it’s still tough, they still want a lot of money for a small house that needs fixing, or a descent size house that still needs a lot of work.

I hope that this isn’t the bottom, bottom, because I really hope to find something this year. Keeping my fingers crossed that we will find something, for the right price, right area and the right time =)

  • Trying to buy a home…

So here’s the thing, my boyfriend and I have been trying to find a home since December, we started looking knowing it’s the time to buy and with all the houses we have searched and looked for we came up with one, we put in a bid and someone put in a bid higher than us, this discouraged us and we haven’t been looking that much until recently again and I can’t help but feel that we’ll never find the right home. Am I being too picky when I don’t think the neighborhood is up to par or the fact that there is wires hanging from the roof or the roof is too flat, the inside needs way too much work? Why can’t I find the perfect home for the perfect price? Impossible I am starting to believe.

So we wanted to see a house and our Realtor calls and he doesn’t have a Supra so you think the Realtor who is selling the place would want to show it to potential buyers? Wrong, she says she is too busy and to call her next week, thing is next week my Realtor will be out of town so hopefully she will show it to us without him being here, and then she goes to tell our Realtor that the place is in really bad condition, unlivable…what kind of Realtor is this. Let us decide that first!!! So frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
