Any breaking news worth talking about

  • Still talking about Adam Lambert

    Still talking

Okay so Adams show on the American Music Awards was a little raunchy, who cares. ABC says people still haven’t forgotten so he was asked NOT to do the Jimmy Kimmel show and the New Years Eve show in New York.

    Get over it people

This is Adam, take him or leave him. Unfortunately I think it’s ridiculous to not allow him to do these shows, why not just ask him to take it down a notch. I understand that if you have children what he may be displaying on television isn’t appropriate, and ABC is a family network, however I don’t see a problem with just asking him to tune it down a bit. I don’t even think it was all that bad, but that’s just my opinion.

    Don’t stop

Keep doing what you’re doing Adam, don’t stop who you are. But in a world of critics you may have to tune it down a bit for the reserved people in the world. Good luck and hope to see you on tv soon.

  • 4 Police officers dead in Seattle, now so is the killer…

    The story:

Maurice Clemmons, 37, the man you see above, stepped into a coffee shop and shot and killed 4 police officers. One police officer was able to take a shot and hit Maurice, but he still got away. They are now looking for possibly 6-7 people who helped him hide from police. They believe one of them is his sister, who helped clean up the shot wound. Last night at 2:45am a Police officer pulled Clemmons over in a stolen car. When approaching the car, he heard noise behind him and he recognized Clemmons, he told him to put his hands where he can see them but Clemmons didn’t listen. The officer fired several rounds and took him into custody. He later died from the gunshot wound he had. They found Clemmons with one of the officers guns.

The officers who were Killed were Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39, and Officers Ronald Owens, 37, Tina Griswold, 40, and Greg Richards, 42. May they rest in peace.

This story goes on. This man was in Jail since he was 16 but was released early by Governor Mike Huckabee. He claims had he known this man was this distraught he would have not requested an early release. However, Clemmons was arrested again in 2000 and 2004. He was then again arrested earlier this year for assaulting a police officer and for raping a child. He claimed the world was coming to an end.

    My thoughts:

This story saddens me. Four brave officers died because of one man, because we thought giving people a second chance sometimes works. However, after he violated his parole and got arrested, that should have been sufficient enough to prove that he hadn’t changed. This should have sent him back to jail for the remainder of his sentence. I don’t understand how the law can take someone out of jail so easily yet after he assaulted a police officer and raped a child he was still in the streets. This man should have been behind bars, then perhaps these four brave officers can be with us today, be with their families and loved ones. But today people mourn for the ones they lost, people ask why, and cry and plead that people like Clemmons don’t get a get out jail free card, because these are the chances we are making.

  • American Music Awards Edits Live Footage

    American Music Awards…

So the controversy on the radio today was how ABC – The American Music Awards edited footage from the live version us East side folks got to see. The West side only got to see the edited version.

Adam Lambert’s show was a little more then what they expected, I assume. He did mention prior to his show that some people may have a problem with his show, and that he’s sorry but then maybe he just isn’t for them. He said he would feel discriminated against if they did edit his show because women have been doing exactly what he’s going to do on TV for years, and just because he’s a male doesn’t mean they should edit his show. Well Adam, was grinding with some men, and kissing some girls, who cares! ABC Cared! They edited his footage and the west coast only got to see the clean version of his show.

    My thoughts:

GO ADAM! I thought his show was unique, and funky and crazy all at the same time. And yes it was a bit much for some viewers, but like Adam bluntly said, if you don’t like it then he isn’t the artist for you. Personally I agree with Adam, it is discriminatory to say he can’t grind up against men and women but women can do it to both sexes. I say go for it Adam, be who you are and don’t hide it.

    Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez fell, lets get over it. It’s all over youtube as if it’s this huge thing. She climbed up like 5 guys jumped off and slipped, it happens to the best of us. Well ABC also edited that out of the footage. That’s just ridiculous, but I guess if I was Jennifer Lopez I wouldn’t mind. Even though you can see it on youtube over and over again.

    My thoughts:

Poor Jen…. I think she did a great job recovering and I felt so bad for her when she fell. Having danced in the passed I know how upset she must of been after the show, although I didn’t perform in front of millions of people nation wide. Ohhh so scary! But I think she pulled off a great show and I say DON’T WORRY JEN We still love you!

I also just wanted to say that all the performances were exceptional. Janet Jackson’s opening act was great, Black Eyed Peas, JayZ, Alecia Keys, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Whitney Houston, wow the list goes on…. if you missed it, you missed an incredible show this year!

  • FIU law student goes missing for more then 9 days before they report him

    Tom Daniels

    The story:

This story is shocking. So called friends of Tom Daniels reports him missing after 9 days. They last saw him leaving Cici’s pizza feeling agitated. He was saying that someone was coming after him. He’s now been missing for 12 days without any word. He hasn’t touched his facebook account, called his girlfriend or his mom and he hasn’t used any of his credit cards.

His mom lives in California and says last time she spoke to her son he was seeing a psychiatrist. She hopes him missing has something to do with his mental health and not that someone hurt him. Family didn’t find out about him missing until his aunt who lives in Gainesville got a knock on her door from police wanting to know if her nephew was there. His aunt helped raise him, which is why police thought he might be at her house.

Daniels weighs 230 pounds and has brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray tank top and beige cargo pants. FIU is also trying to help in the investigation and are posting pictures all around and will post an article in their newspaper.

    My thoughts:

Okay these aren’t his friends, because if I couldn’t get a hold of my friend and didn’t see him in school for more then 2 days I would have gone knocking on his dorm room door. If I still couldn’t find him and no one has seen him, I would have reported him missing. Now the mother was complaining that the friends should have reported him sooner, but she hadn’t talked to him for more then 9 days either and didn’t find that strange? I am assuming they didn’t talk very often then. My mother would have been on a plane over here if I didn’t answer the phone on the second day.

Also where does the girlfriend come in, why didn’t she call the police sooner? If my boyfriend didn’t return my phone call after 2 days, I would try going to his place, or calling someone that might know where he was. If I couldn’t find something out I would then call the POLICE! (Maybe they were having problems and so she thought he was just ignoring her phone calls) this could be a possibility I don’t know, but why else wouldn’t she be worried?

This just sounds strange to me all around. Missing for 9 days before anyone reports it? Not a friend, not a family member, not his girlfriend were worried sooner then 9 days? The fact that he hasn’t used any of his accounts is also scary, he isn’t just hiding out in a hotel depressed about something. If he was seeing a psychiatrist was he depressed? There seems to be so many missing links to this puzzle. I hope that someone has some kind of information and I hope that Tom Daniels is somewhere safe out there. If he is, he needs to report in, I don’t care how old you are. People are worried. I know I would be if I knew him…

Anyone with information about Daniels should call FIU Police Sgt. R. Diaz at 305-348-2626 or 305-348-2633.

  • Florida man arrested for calling 911 & asking for sex

    The story:

Okay, so this sounds like a bogus story right? Well it’s not. A 29 year old man named Joshua Basso living in Tampa Florida called 911 repeatedly asking the dispatcher for sex. Asking if he can go to her house even. The dispatcher hung up but Joshua continued to call four more times. Joshua claims he called 911 because his cell phone minutes ran out and it was the only number he could call. Police arrested him in his home 15 minutes later and charged for making a false 911 call. Joshua Basso says he didn’t think he would get in trouble. He has a Tampa jail record showing crimes from back in 2001 for theft and other crimes.

    My thoughts:

I couldn’t stop laughing when I heard this story. This guy is a grown man, and he really thought he couldn’t get in trouble by calling the Police and asking for sex? Really? He ran out of minutes on his cell phone, it all makes sense now (laughing). Okay so he has a criminal record, that doesn’t mean anything. At least he was calling the police for sex and not some innocent person in the street. We have to look at the bright side of this story. Right? Hopefully next time Joshua will get a job so he can pay for his phone bill.

  • Man allegedly reports fake murder to speed police

    The story:

In Tyler, Texas a 38 year old man named Mark Anthony Johnson called 911 on Monday night and reported that he had committed a homicide and was armed with a weapon. Police rushed over to Johnson’s resident only to find he made the whole thing up. Jonson was found lying only to get Police to his house quicker so that he can report a simple assault complaint.

Tyler police did act quick and they also ended up arresting Johnson and charging him with filing a false report. He’s in Smith County Jail with a bond of $3,000.

    My thoughts:

Is this man an idiot? He called the police telling them he committed a homicide. He deserves to get arrested after that lie. Now, I can understand that Police don’t rush to your aid when it’s a simple complaint about an assault but come on! Really?!? Homicide? I’ve heard some stories, but this one is just funny to me. What did he think was going to happen. Did he honestly think the police would arrive and just be like, Oh okay Sr. you lied to us, so tell us your real problem? Wow…. the mentality of some people truly shocks me.

  • 1-Pound Miami Baby Beats the Odds

    The story:

Baby Gabriella was born March 5 being premature at only 23 weeks and only weighting 1lb 1 oz, is one of the smallest surviving preemies at Jackson Memorial Hospital and they said she only had a 15% chance of surviving. She not only beat the odds but she survived a lung disease, multiple surgeries, and several infections. Her parents where always there cheering her on, singing to her and giving her hope to keep living.

Gabriella’s parents mother Maruja and father Miguel where excited that after eight long months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unite at Holtz Children’s hospital, they finally got to dress up their baby girl and take her home.

Now Gabriella weighs 12 pounds. Doctors are astounded by her progress. She has to still take a little bit of oxygen and a few medications but Dr. Shahnaz Duara says she’s quite healthy.

    My thoughts:

This is one of those stories that you can’t believe. A story and a miracle. This baby had very low chances of surviving, and this just proves that when your odds are low, have faith, because there is always a small chance that the door on the other end will open. This baby now has a chance to life thanks to all the doctors who helped her survive.

This is the kind of the story that makes you sit back and appreciate life.

  • $3,500 Whiskey Bottle Whisked Out of Weston

    The story:

A whiskey by Johnny Walker had produced a limited number of 200th Anniversary bottles for its Blue Label brand, and only six where distributed right here in Florida. One right here in our own backyard was walked right out the front door of a wine shop who had security cameras pointed right where the bottle was located.

The employees of Master Wine and Liquor in Weston didn’t even notice the bottle had been replaced and stolen for three days.

Luckily for them they had footage from the October 30th show. The man who allegedly stole this bottle is said to be around 5’9″ and 250 pounds. He walks right over to the display case and while a woman is distracting the staff he pries open the glass, puts the $3,500 bottle down his pants, and replaces it with a regular bottle from the shelf right next to him.

Police say they have fingerprints, but no leads so far.

    My thoughts:

This guy has some balls, so to speak. He literally walks in has a woman distract the staff and snatches the bottle in his pants and leaves. Gets away with it for 3 days. If this guy is even caught, will they find the bottle or has he drank the bottle already? Or perhaps he’s trying to sell it for cheaper then what you would get it in stores. Either way that’s not something you can just put in your pants and not notice it being there. How did this guy not get caught?!? I think people are desperate to do things these days. Lucky for the store that they did have cameras, but I’m not sure this will still be enough to catch the guy.

  • Fight Turns To Shooting, Estranged Couple Dead

    The story:

There isn’t much to tell, a fight between a South Florida couple led to gunfire and now both people are dead, according to police a little after 10pm Thursday. By the time the police showed up the man was found dead on the scene and the women was rushed to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The neighbors are said to be shocked and they don’t understand what could have been so bad as for this couple to fight and lead to this.

    My thoughts:

It is no wonder our world is so screwed up. No one will ever truly know what these two were arguing about. Arguing so bad that it led them to fire a gun and kill each other. As far as I know there isn’t any type of argument that can lead me to do such a thing. I don’t care who you are or what you have done, if it was something so horrible as killing someone I would call the police. Police haven’t said much on the case as of yet, so we don’t know if it was a murder suicide or what it was that even started this horrible event.

Things are hard in life, but it doesn’t mean we have to result in violence to solve them.

  • After 10 bodies, search of sex offender’s home to continue

    The story

This man above is Anthony Sowell – 50 – he was in jail after pleading guilty to rape in a 1989 case and was sentenced in 1990 and released in 2005. This man now living at home, becomes a suspect in yet another rape. Authorities from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office checked on Anthony Sowell regularly and last checked on him September 22 to confirm his address and found no problems, McGrath said. About a month ago he became a suspect after a witness accuses him of rape and assault. After the investigation they get a warrant to go into his home and find 5 discomposing female bodies, later 4 more were found outside the home. Investigation is still taking place, as they take down walls and everything possible inside his home. A skull wrapped in a bag was also found in a bucket in the basement.

They can’t confirm who these girls are, they will have to run specific DNA testing to find out who they are. They are said to try and do everything to get these women identified so that the families can rest in piece.

Authorities charged Sowell, with five counts of aggravated murder Tuesday afternoon, police said. He was also charged with rape, felonious assault and kidnapping. His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

They said that the first six bodies found last week were all African-American women and five of them had been strangled, Police Chief McGrath said.

“I can imagine how families feel who have reported a missing person, and the anxiety that they are going through,” Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson said. “And we want to assure them as soon as we know something they will be the first to know.”

Neighbors had no clue who this man truly was or what he was doing in his own house.

    My Thoughts:

Cases like these are the ones that truly make you think. Make you wonder if you really know your neighbor. Makes you a little more careful to walk alone at night. These stories aren’t made up in movies, they come from real life situations. Real life crazy people, people who walk the streets, and drive right next you. People we pretend don’t exist to make our lives a little easier to understand. Unfortunately they do exist and these people are the ones that need to stay behind bars. It’s wonderful that they caught him before more innocent women had to die, but 10 women lay there now, hoping their families find them to put them down to rest. My heart goes out to these families.
