  • Murder mystery to hit primetime TV

    Roaming the Internet:

As I was looking at stories to discuss today I ran into this story. A story I read last year and couldn’t believe. They had found a mans body in a van in a canal in Coral Springs. He had been missing for more than 30 years. This Saturday on CBS 48 Hour Mystery at 10 p.m. they are planning on airing a movie about it, called “Deep Secret”. The story about Jeffrey Walter Klee.

    The Story:

Jeffrey Walter Klee, was only 18, when he went missing on July 12, 1977. They didn’t find his body until March 26, 2008, when police discovered his bones inside a van found in a Broward County canal.

Coral Springs police say that after the discovery of his remains the killer eventually came to confess his murder. Jeffrey was murdered by his best friend David Cusanelli. Unfortunately David Cusanelli who allegedly admitted to killing his friend in a fight over a “mutual love interest”, was not prosecuted due to Florida’s Statue of limitations.

CBS States that Laurel Steele, Klee’s younger sister, said the episode includes video of Cusanelli’s confession to police and interviews with the friends’ love interest and a woman to whom Cusanelli reportedly told his secret.

    My thoughts:

I remember hearing the story when they found Jeffery’s body and I couldn’t believe after so many years they found his body so close to his own home. Now more then 30 years later the family can rest knowing what happened to their son. But is it enough? Is it better knowing that his best friend killed him over a love interest? Knowing that his body was so close to home just sitting their in a van? Or was it better not knowing at all what happened? It can’t be easy knowing something so horrible happened to someone you love. Jeffery was only 18 years old. He had his whole life ahead of him, and it was taken away over a “love interest”? Are you serious? The man who killed him claims to had been his “best friend”. I don’t agree that he was his best friend, or a friend at that matter. To let a “love interest” come between your friendship, let alone lead to murder.

It’s also intolerably comprehensible that the Florida statue doesn’t allow us to prosecute David Cusanelli. He admitted to a murder that happened over 30 years ago, but just because it happened so long ago, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be punished for his actions.

May Jeffrey Walter Klee finally rest in peace, and my prayers go to his family for having to suffer all these years, not knowing what happened to him. Now they know, but is it enough?

What do you think about the situation?

  • Miami-Dade Police officer hits, kills pedestrian in Florida City

    The story:

Saturday night a Miami-Dade police officer struck and killed Jose Muñoz 67 years old, father of eight, landscaper. His wife and him were having financial problems and their lights were turned off. They decided to walk to the gas station near by and pick up some bread. As they were going to cross the street, heading back home, Jose pushed his wife out of the way when he saw the police car approaching. The police car, took Jose with him. The police man did stop right away. They have not released the officers name and the accident is still under investigation. The officer had struck Jose around 9:45 p.m. The officer was on patrol, and did not respond to a call at the time of the crash. It was dark where the couple was going to cross the street, it was a two lane road when the police officer struck Jose Muñoz. There is no crosswalk or traffic light at the intersection. The witnesses said the Police officers car did not have emergency lights or sirens on.

    My thoughts:

It is always sad to hear stories like this. When a person is struck by a car out of no where and is taken away from us. This time it was by a Police Officer. I can’t imagine what was going on his head at the time of the incident. Investigation is still going on. Why he didn’t see the couple crossing the street is still unknown. I also don’t understand how the couple crossing the street didn’t see the car coming? It is accidents like this that make people think. You don’t always think that it will be your day to die, but this is why I truly believe in the saying “Live your life as if it was your last”. No matter what we say or do, you just never know when it will be your time to go. I pray for this family and I hope that they are helped with the funeral and burial arrangements. They don’t have much money and would need help. There was no information on donations but you can check out the story Here.

    By the way:

I was reading comments people left on this story on the Miami Herald website. It just amazes me how people are so ignorant. A lot of people have bad things to say about Police Officers, and yes there are some that give them all a bad name. Unfortunately people don’t see the good police officers that are out there protecting these cities. You don’t hear about all the good they do and all the criminals they catch. We only ever hear the bad which is why people are so critical of them. As for this situation it could have been any other car who hit this poor man. This night, it just happened to be a police officer. In the past few month, just starting from the beginning of the year I have heard/read about more then a hand full of hit and runs and pedestrians being killed. It is something that has been going on, now it’s just a bigger deal to people because a cop actually hit a pedestrian. Accidents happen and I’m sure the police officer feels terrible about the incident. We can only now wait for the investigation to finish taking place to prove whether the police officer was under the influence of some sort. It’s highly unlikely seeing as he was on duty, however it isn’t impossible. So to all those comments that are being critical of the officer and the system, I can only hope your ignorance goes so far.

  • Florida universities study plan to require health insurance for all students

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read this article.

    My opinion:

Florida Universities are trying to make it a requirement that students have health insurance, if not they cannot attend the school. Students are struggling now to pay for high tuition’s and books. I myself just paid a little over $200 dollars for 2 books and they were used books. Imagine all those students who take more then 2 classes a semester? I currently work full time and have health insurance through my job, but if I could only work part time and didn’t have benefits to health insurance, I probably wouldn’t have insurance right now either. It’s too expensive to take on School tuition, books and your bills and then to have to pay for health insurance, is just too much. I do agree that it’s important we have insurance. For example, I have been sick for over a week and today I have to go to the doctor, because this cold isn’t getting any better. I can still go to the doctor with out insurance, my co-pay would just be much higher. My point is even though it’s important to have health insurance, it is not right to force students to have health insurance in order to get an education. You are taking their rights away. You are forcing someone who can probably barely afford school as it is, to pay for health insurance. I think it’s ridiculous.

I didn’t know that some Florida Universities already have this requirement. University of Miami, Palm Beach Atlantic University and Lynn University in Boca to name a few.

One student “A.J. Meyer, student government president at Florida International University, west of Miami, said he is against required health insurance. He is on his parents’ plan in New York, but it doesn’t cover him out of state”.

“I’ve never had any medical issue,” said Meyer, who is also the student representative to the Board of Governors. “If I did have a medical issue, I would fly back to New York.”

I agree with A.J. Meyer and I am sure many other students would agree with us too.

  • Driver shot in Plantation in possible case of mistaken identity

    The story:

A 40 year old women (they haven’t released her name) was shot in Plantation Monday night. Police are saying it was a case of mistaken identity. The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. she was bumped from behind and when she got off her car she was shot at twice. Luckily for her she was only struck once and only suffered minor injuries. She was also pregnant. They haven’t said if the baby is okay or not. They say she overheard a second person int he car say, “It’s not them,” after the shots were fired. The car was said to be an older model, burgundy four-door sedan.

    My thoughts:

It’s hard to believe sometimes the things that happen in our world. But it’s out there. There are people who are just traveling the wrong road. Who ever this person was going for was lucky this night, but unfortunately for this women who was hit, she had to suffer in the hands of some person who’s an idiot. Thankfully, she wasn’t killed, and we are hoping her baby is okay and in good health. I hope they find the two idiots who bumped into this women and began shooting. I just don’t understand the mentality of people. I don’t understand how you get to where they are in life. It’s very sad actually. Life works in mysterious ways, and in some ways we’ll never understand.

  • Key West center offers a safe haven for runaway, homeless kids

Some people don’t imagine their children will runaway, some can’t comprehend why children runaway, but some children feel the need to run away. We hope this doesn’t happen, and we don’t want it to happen, but it does. Wouldn’t you feel better knowing that there is a place your children can go to if this does happen?

    Key West Center Project Lighthouse

A women by the name of Andrea Grace Quigley at the age of 20 ran away from home all the way from New Jersey to Key West. She left to escape a home filled of sadness, her mom was dying of cancer and her dad was cancer–stricken another part of her just wanted change. She wanted to find herself.

She only had a few dollars on her and went to the movies, she fell asleep and woke up when the movie finished and began to cry. Andrea says ”I didn’t want to walk back out onto the street,” “I had no money.” I couldn’t call my parents, they were so desperately ill. I wanted somewhere to go, but I didn’t know anyone.”

When that moment came she walked out of the theater and a stranger asked her about the saxophone she was carrying in her backpack. The stranger was Tim Curtis, the director of Project lighthouse. Project Lighthouse is a federally funded street outreach program for runaways, homeless and at risk street youth under 21. Its where children can go to shower, do laundry and do creative things, like Andrea who used the equipment to record a demo CD. Now Andrea sells jewelery and clothing she designs and she volunteers.

”Most everyone who comes in here is at a point in their life when they are teetering on the ledge and can go either way,” Quigley said. “You can go to this negative life, or go in the other direction.”

Lighthouse opened in October 2004 and has served about 870 runaway and homeless youth from around the country, according to program director Jai Somers. Hundreds more local at-risk kids also have been helped. The rules are no drugs and alcohol and no sleeping or fighting. Be friendly and no swearing or R-rated material and be productive.

This is very motivating to teens who are out there and need help to get on the right track. I think more of our cities need a place like this for children who runaway. Not every child can be helped, but it’s good to know there are places out there like this where you can go if you don’t have anywhere else to go. I have always loved the thought of helping teenagers who are in trouble, who really just need that little push in the right direction. Not everyone gets a second chance.

  • Neighbors Say Porn Is Shot too Close to Home

Edmund Tamay is the man they are saying is renting out his mansion condo near Biscayne to shoot Porn. Neighbors have pictures of the Production people hauling in equipment. Edmund states there is no Porn shooting in his home. You can read more about the story in the Link below.

They ask the question though, would you like for them to be filming porn next to your house?

This question has many answers depending on who you are?

If I was a man, I’m sure I would love Porn to be filming right next door. It’s a man’s dream come true 😉

As a women, I wouldn’t really care for it, as long as it doesn’t interfere in my life at home.

If I had a family, I wouldn’t want Porn filming next door. I wouldn’t want a child of mine to hear or see anything that I later have to explain.

I remember when I worked at a Construction site, we were almost done with the building and the building next door was already complete, people were already living there, and all of a sudden I hear that all the men are on the 15th floor watching porn being filmed across the street. I didn’t know they can do that so publicly with the windows open. I sure wouldn’t want to be the neighbor in the apartment they were standing in once it’s complete. Imagine you cleaning your windows and BAMB! There is a naked chick going down on a guy. I don’t think I would care for that too much. But then again I’m a women.

  • Man killed girlfriend in fight over beer and tried to have sex with her corpse

I have heard my share of stories but this one, the title alone just astonished me. You kill your girlfriend over beer then you try to have sex with her corpse. How more sick can this get?

    The Story

Robert Conde, 41 from Ft. Lauderdale was arrested Wednesday morning. He said he got in argument with his girlfriend over beer, he beat her until she couldn’t fight back, until she was dead. He removed her pants and tried to have sex with her, he then covered her up to lay next to her. Ruth Ann Trueblood (they didn’t disclose her age) was later found behind the building. They found Robert Conde not to far from the body and when asked if he knew her he said no, but then later said “OK, all right. I did it. I killed her,” this is what reports said.

    My fair opinion

So another murder, another day right. Seems that way lately. Seems like anywhere you go or read, you hear about someone dieing. But over beer? Seriously?!?! Apparently so, folks. He beat her in the face until he knew she was dead. Unbelievable. I’m happy that he was caught because this man needs serious help. There has to be something wrong with a man, especially after confessing so easily. Who is Ruth Ann Trueblood though? Does she have family here? Is she a mother? Reports haven’t disclosed any information except her name and how she died. I just hope that Ruth Ann is resting in peace, I hope that if she does have family out there that they will be okay. I know it will take time to heal. It can’t be easy learning that your family member died over Beer?!

  • 4 Year old takes Pot to school

    The Story

Did you hear about the 4 year old who took pot to school? No it’s not a joke, it actually really happened. The 4 year old pulled out the bag of weed and his teacher heard him telling another student that “That’s my brothers weed.” When the teacher took him to the office they found 2 other bags of marijuana in his book bag. He first told authorities, that his 21 year old brother put them in his book bag to hide the bags. Later he said he found them in his brothers room. Investigators from the state department of Children & Families had to go to the child’s home. They found nothing showing any danger for the boy and are looking into closing the case. As for the BSO, it is still under investigation. The mother of the boy said she has never seen marijuana and she checked her sons book bag when she packed his lunch in the morning and didn’t see anything.

    My Fair Opinion

I don’t know what’s sadder, the fact that a 4 year old boy brought drugs to a pre-school, or the fact that the 4 year old boy actually knew what was in the bag. Obviously if there is an older brother, this has to be the case, a 4 year old doesn’t know how to lie that well. Also how would he know that what he was holding was weed? He had to have heard his brother talking about it. I don’t care what age you are, but especially if you are 21, you should know better than to bring that around a small child. If you are going to do something like smoke weed, or sell it, don’t involve your family.

They haven’t said anything else on the investigation, and the mother only stated that she has never seen weed in her house before. She didn’t mention anything about another son and they didn’t mention questioning the 21 year old either.

  • Missing NFL players Marquis Cooper & Corey Smith

I was reading the story about how they saved one man so far, Nick Schuyler. The other 3 men are missing. Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith & former South Florida player William Bleakley. The story is very sad, when you hear Nick Schuyler tell Bleakley’s mother Betty Bleakley how they all held on and tried to stay together. William Bleakley went under the boat to get the life jackets for the others while he held on to a cushion flotation.

Coast Guards closed down the search Tuesday, stating that if the men were alive they would have found them already. Family and friends still have hope and have started their own search out to sea.

A childhood friend and teammate of Cooper at Washington Tank Johnson, was said to be taking a lead role in the renewed search. Johnson said the family has not given up hope that the men are still alive. “I truly believe he is out there somewhere being strong,” Johnson said.

We all hope this is true. I pray for their families, and for their safe return. The truth is that it would be a miracle at this point for the men to be alive. Nick Schuyler’s doctor, Dr. Mark Rumbak said Nick was in good condition but they will keep him in the hospital to make sure there are no complications. He said Nick Schuyler probably would have lived another five to ten hours out there. He states: “I think he is extremely fortunate.” “I can’t explain it. Some divine providence, I really think.”

The waters were about 68 degrees, it’s hard to survive too long out there in that type of temperature. Still the family has hope and continues to search. Johnson stated that even if the men aren’t found alive at least the bodies will give the family some type of closure.

It always saddens me to hear these types of stories, I read about it when it first happened, and now I read that they have only found one man and that they stopped the search. I hope for the family and friends who are out there searching, that they find them. I hope that they are okay, and with this miracle the family will be okay.

I found this quote, and thought it was just right:

  • Teacher fired on sex-call allegation

What is the world coming to when we can’t even trust the people who are teaching our children?

    The Story
A Broward teacher was fired Tuesday after allegedly making a sexual phone call to a former student. He new this girl when she was in the 4th and 5th grade. The young girl was going to her younger sisters graduation in May 2007. Digg asked the younger sister to give his number to her sister. Digg is a 41-year-old music teacher at Plantation Elementary, he described his sexual fantasies and talked about oral sex while on the phone with the 16 year old. He also allegedly masturbated while on the phone with her. They say 2 more students over heard this conversation.

Digg was suspended with pay but later was suspended with out pay that ultimately left him fired. They say he can appeal in front of a judge, but do you think he would be that dumb to keep moving forward with this.

    SHOCKED…
It just astonishes me every time I hear a story like this. I’m not shocked in the sense, I don’t think these kind of things happen. I’m well aware they do, I hear about it all the time. That’s the problem though, we hear this kind of news all the time. This is news that should be shocking and should not even happen. If we can’t trust our children to be at school with their teachers, where do we leave them, how will they learn?

Each and everyday their cases of Child Abuse, Child molestation, & sick people who do things like this. It’s sad that our world is so corrupt with such wickedness.
